Hindustan Zinc Shares Surge 8% to New 52-Week High as Silver Prices Breach ₹2 Lakh per Kg Milestone

Shares of

HINDZINC
n Zinc Limited soared over 8% on Friday, hitting a fresh 52-week high of ₹566.70 on the NSE, amid a historic rally in silver prices. The Vedanta Group company, India's largest integrated zinc-lead-silver producer, has seen its stock rise nearly 16% over four consecutive sessions, outperforming broader market indices. The primary driver behind the surge is the unprecedented spike in silver prices. March expiry silver futures on the MCX crossed the psychological ₹2 lakh per kg mark for the first time, while global spot silver prices hovered around $63-64 per ounce, marking multi-decade highs. Hindustan Zinc, which produces refined silver with over 99.9% purity and contributes significantly to India's domestic output, stands to benefit immensely as silver now accounts for 40-45% of its earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT).
