Hitachi Energy India to Invest Rs 2,000 Crore in New Large Power Transformer Facility in Vadodara

$POWERINDIA y India Ltd has announced a major investment of approximately Rs 2,000 crore to establish a state-of-the-art Large Power Transformer (LPT) manufacturing facility in Karjan, Vadodara district. The project underscores the company’s strong confidence in India’s energy sector growth and its commitment to bolstering domestic manufacturing capabilities. The new plant, expected to be operational by FY28, will significantly ramp up the production capacity of high-end power transformers. These critical components are essential for high-voltage transmission networks, HVDC systems, renewable energy integration, power generation projects, AI data centres, and large-scale industrial applications. The facility will help address the surging domestic demand for reliable grid infrastructure amid India’s ambitious energy transition goals.
