Hyundai Motor India climbed more than 2% on Wednesday after its parent, Hyundai Motor Group, unveiled a $15.5 billion investment plan for India through 2032. The stock touched Rs 2,011, extending gains from the previous session, even as broader markets remained largely flat.
The seven-year commitment, spanning 2026 to 2032, will fund manufacturing expansion at Hyundai Motor India and Kia India, strengthen research and development, deepen local supplier networks, and support future mobility businesses. Around $700 million is earmarked for the group’s Indian R&D centre, including a vehicle testing track, to accelerate next-generation technologies and position India as a key innovation hub.
Hyundai Motor Group Executive Chair Euisun Chung discussed the plan with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Tuesday. The group currently has annual production capacity of over 1.4 million vehicles across plants in Chennai, Pune, and Anantapur. It plans to scale capacity further, boost parts localisation, and explore areas such as EV charging, automotive financing, and vehicle recycling.#StockInNews#WatchOutFor
