nk's current market valuation. This straightforward approach has positioned it ahead in the race, according to sources cited in media reports. Competing Bidder: Kotak Mahindra Bank remains a strong contender, potentially offering a mix of cash and shares. Both bidders cleared the Reserve Bank of India's 'fit and proper' criteria earlier. Emirates NBD Steps Back: Dubai-based Emirates NBD, which had shown initial interest, is reassessing its participation after recently securing a deal to acquire a controlling stake in RBL Bank. Stake on Offer: The government (45.48%) and LIC (49.24%) together hold over 94% in IDBI Bank and plan to divest a combined 60.72% stake, transferring management control to the successful bidder. The transaction could be valued at around $7 billion.
