opment Corporation ( !GMDC ) surged over 3.5% today, reaching Rs 580.7 per share, following India's formal accession to the US-led Pax Silica initiative. This strategic alliance focuses on establishing secure, resilient, and innovation-driven supply chains for critical minerals, semiconductors, and artificial intelligence (AI) technologies.
The Pax Silica initiative, launched by the United States in December 2025, seeks to foster cooperation among trusted partners to reduce vulnerabilities in global technology supply chains, particularly in silicon-based systems essential for advanced computing and AI infrastructure. India's signing of the Pax Silica Declaration took place today at the AI Impact Summit in New Delhi, attended by Union Minister for Electronics and Information Technology Ashwini Vaishnaw, US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor, and other key officials.
Minister Vaishnaw highlighted the pact's potential to significantly benefit India's electronics and semiconductor sectors, while Ambassador Gor described Pax Silica as a "coalition of capabilities" and emphasized that India's participation is both strategic and essential for mutual economic security.
The move aligns with broader India-US efforts to deepen ties in emerging technologies amid intensifying global competition over AI hardware and critical resources. Other mining-related stocks, including Orissa Minerals Development Company Ltd, also saw gains, rising nearly 2% in trading today.#WatchOutFor#MacroViews#Miscellaneous
