IndusInd Bank Denies $1 Billion Equity Raise Rumors

INDUSINDBK
Bank has strongly refuted reports of an imminent $1 billion capital raise via preferential issue, calling them “speculative and factually inaccurate.” Sources had claimed the bank was in talks with sovereign funds like GIC, with Citi advising and pricing eyed at ₹875-950/share, possibly above book value, to be completed by Jan-end ahead of ECL norms in FY27. CEO Rajiv Anand, currently on Singapore roadshows, has repeatedly said the bank is “very well capitalised” (Tier-1 at 15.21%) and needs no fresh equity for the next two years. Focus remains on portfolio cleanup, cutting microfinance exposure, and hitting 1% RoA in 12-18 months.
