JSW Energy Signs Battery Storage Agreements with RVUNL; Stock Rises Marginally

gy announced that its step-down subsidiary, JSW Renew Energy Thirty Seven, signed Battery Energy Storage Purchase Agreements (BESPA) with Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam (RVUNL) for a 250 MW / 500 MWh standalone Battery Energy Storage System (BESS). The project, to be developed under a build, own, and operate (BOO) model in Rajasthan, is part of a 12-year agreement with a tariff of ₹2,24,000 per MW per month, supported by viability gap funding (VGF). This initiative strengthens JSW Energy’s position in India’s renewable energy sector, enhancing grid stability and renewable integration.
