KPIT Tech Bounces Back 3% After Sharp Sell-Off; Management Reaffirms Robust Guidance

Stake Sale by Mystery Investor Blamed for Volatility, Wall Street Firms Stay Bullish on Long-Term Prospects

KPITTECH
d. shares staged a smart recovery, surging over 3% on October 1, just a day after tumbling 10% in a surprise rout. The rebound was propelled by management's firm reassurance on unchanged financial projections and margin guidance, quelling jitters triggered by what the company described as a one-off stake divestment by an unidentified individual investor. In a proactive disclosure, KPIT emphasized that its detailed outlook remains intact, with no alterations to prior guidance on revenue growth or profitability. "We will not delve into specifics of individual deals, but there is absolutely no jeopardy to client renewals or our pipeline momentum," the company stated, underscoring confidence in its engineering prowess amid the evolving automotive tech landscape. The September 30 plunge, which erased nearly Rs 2,000 crore in market value, caught investors off-guard. During an exclusive chat with CNBC-TV18, KPIT executives pinned the episode squarely on a block deal involving a single shareholder's exit, though they professed ignorance about the seller's identity. "This was an isolated event unrelated to fundamentals," a spokesperson clarified, aiming to restore calm in a sector already nursing broader underperformance woes.
