L&T Shares Gain Up to 1% After Securing Rs 2,500-5,000 Crore Order from Petronet LNG

LT
& Toubro Ltd (L&T) rose as much as 1% in early trading on Friday, snapping a recent five-session losing streak, after the engineering and construction giant announced a significant 'large' order win in its hydrocarbon onshore segment. The stock climbed to around Rs 3,905 on the NSE during morning trade, up 1.02% from the previous close, before settling with modest gains. This positive movement helped counterbalance lingering concerns from recent overseas project-related news. Over the past year, L&T shares have delivered returns of about 11%, aligning closely with the Nifty 50's performance. The company boasts a market capitalization of approximately Rs 5.36 lakh crore and trades at a P/E multiple of around 32.7x. In a regulatory filing on Friday, L&T revealed that its Hydrocarbon Onshore business has bagged a large order (valued between Rs 2,500 crore and Rs 5,000 crore) from Petronet LNG Limited, a joint venture promoted by major public sector undertakings — ONGC, Indian Oil Corporation (IOCL), GAIL (India), and Bharat Petroleum Corporation (BPCL).
