M&M Shares Rise Following New Tech Subsidiary Launch

M&M
& Mahindra (M&M) shares saw a 2% gain following the announcement of the incorporation of its new subsidiary, Mahindra Advanced Technologies Limited (MATL). Established under the manufacturing and allied services category, MATL will focus on security-related technologies. The formal incorporation of MATL took place on April 7, 2025, in Mumbai, Maharashtra, following board approval granted in February. M&M has fully subscribed to 50 lakh equity shares, each with a par value of ₹10, securing 100% ownership of the new entity. This development comes amidst a period of strong growth for M&M's automotive division. The company reported a significant increase in sales during FY25, reaching 5.13 million units, up from 4.27 million units in FY24. This surge in sales boosted M&M's market share from 10.79% to 12.34%, placing it in close competition with Tata Motors for the third position in India's passenger vehicle market. In contrast, other major players like Tata Motors, Hyundai Motor India, and Maruti Suzuki India experienced moderate contractions in their market share.
