p slumped on Wednesday following the Union Cabinet’s approval of the Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Bill 2025. The proposed legislation, set to be tabled in the Lok Sabha later today, seeks to ban all pay-to-play online games, encompassing both games of skill and chance. By 9:20 a.m., Nazara Technologies’ stock fell 5% to Rs 1,330.8, while Delta Corp shares dropped 4% to Rs 89.20. The sharp decline reflects investor concerns over the potential impact of the bill, which, if passed, would halt operations of regulated real-money gaming (RMG) platforms across India. The draft bill cites significant social risks associated with online money gaming, particularly its immersive and addictive nature, which the government links to mental health challenges among young players. This move has sparked criticism from industry stakeholders, who argue that the blanket ban could stifle innovation and growth in the gaming sector.
