Nestle India Shares Drop 3% After FSSAI Notice on Alleged Insects in Maggi
$NESTLEIND India’s shares declined nearly 3% on Friday following a notice from the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) over complaints of insect detection in Maggi noodles. According to an ANI report, the regulator acted on multiple social media complaints and issued notices to Nestle and other companies. The food safety watchdog is seeking detailed responses and reports on quality control measures. Nestle India, a major FMCG player, has strongly rejected the allegations, asserting that its products meet all safety standards and undergo rigorous testing. The company said it is cooperating fully with authorities. The development has drawn attention to food safety concerns in the instant noodle segment, where Maggi commands significant market share. Investors remain cautious as the investigation progresses.
