NLC India Shares Rise Nearly 2% on ₹25,000 Crore Renewable Energy MoU with Gujarat

NLCINDIA
ia Ltd. (NLCIL) shares gained around 2% in early trading on January 14, 2026, reaching Rs 259.35 (up Rs 4.15 or 1.63%) on the BSE, following the announcement of a major renewable energy pact. The Navratna PSU signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Gujarat on January 12, 2026, during the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference (Saurashtra and Kutch Region) in Rajkot. The non-binding agreement outlines the development of large-scale renewable energy projects, including solar, wind, hybrid, and battery energy storage systems (BESS), with an aggregate investment potential of approximately ₹25,000 crore. The projects will be executed through NLC India Renewables Limited (NIRL), the company's dedicated green energy subsidiary. This initiative aligns with NLC India's corporate plan to achieve 10 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030 and supports India's broader goals of energy security, Net Zero emissions, and non-fossil fuel expansion.
