Ola Electric Shares Slide 6% as SoftBank Offloads 2% Stake

OLAELEC
lectric Mobility Ltd. witnessed a sharp 6% decline in its share price, trading at ₹60.71 on the BSE, following SoftBank Group’s sale of a 2.15% stake in the electric scooter manufacturer. The stock has now dropped over 12% in two consecutive sessions, erasing some gains from a nearly 80% rally over the past three weeks, driven by positive developments like Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme approval. According to a regulatory filing, SoftBank’s investment arm, SVF II Ostrich (DE) LLC, sold 94.9 million equity shares between July 15 and September 2, 2025, reducing its stake from 17.83% (786.6 million shares) to 15.68% (691.6 million shares). The transaction, which breached the 2% threshold under SEBI’s takeover regulations, was executed via open market deals, though the sale price was not disclosed.
