Power Grid Shares Drop 5% to One-Month Low on Revenue Miss

POWERGRID
d Corporation of India shares tumbled nearly 5% on Monday, hitting a one-month low after the company reported a revenue miss for the March quarter. Revenue from operations declined 5% year-on-year to ₹11,666 crore from ₹12,275 crore in the previous year, falling short of market expectations. However, net profit for the quarter rose 9.7%, supported largely by deferred tax benefits. Despite the profit growth, operating margin contracted sharply to 78% from 83% a year ago, reflecting higher costs and lower revenue realisation. Analysts noted that the revenue shortfall and margin pressure raised concerns over near-term operational performance, triggering selling pressure on the stock. The development comes amid broader market volatility in the power sector.
