RailTel Corporation of India Shares Surge 6% on ₹455 Crore Contract Win

RAILTEL
l Corporation of India Ltd rose sharply by around 6% in early trading today, driven by the announcement of a major contract win from West Central Railway. The company received a Letter of Acceptance (LoA) valued at ₹454.95 crore for a significant project, with execution scheduled to be completed by September 24, 2028. This order underscores RailTel's strong position in providing telecom and infrastructure solutions to the Indian Railways. The positive development comes shortly after another win in January 2026, when RailTel secured an LoA from the Assam Health Infrastructure Development & Management Society (AHIDMS) for the procurement, implementation, and maintenance of a Hospital Management Information System (HMIS). That contract was estimated at ₹56.71 crore. RailTel, a Navratna PSU under the Ministry of Railways, specializes in optical fiber networks and digital infrastructure projects across India. These recent orders highlight the company's expanding footprint in railway signaling, healthcare IT, and related sectors. The stock's rally reflects investor confidence in RailTel's order book growth and its potential for sustained revenue from long-term government-backed projects. As of today, the shares were trading notably higher, building on momentum from prior contract announcements in the year.
