Reliance Power Announces Rs 6,000 Crore Fundraising Plan via QIP and Other Modes

!Reliance Power, led by industrialist Anil Ambani, has unveiled an ambitious plan to raise Rs 6,000 crore through a combination of equity and debt instruments, as announced in an exchange filing on Wednesday, July 16, 2025. The company’s board of directors has approved seeking shareholder authorization to execute this significant fundraising initiative, aimed at bolstering its financial position and supporting its growth objectives. Fundraising Details The fundraising strategy includes multiple avenues to attract investment from institutional and other eligible investors. According to the filing, Reliance Power plans to raise funds through: Qualified Institutional Placement (QIP): Issuance of equity shares, equity-linked instruments, or other eligible securities to qualified institutional buyers. This could also involve a follow-on public offer or a combination of these methods. Non-Convertible Debentures (NCDs): Issuance of secured or unsecured, redeemable non-convertible debentures worth up to Rs 3,000 crore, to be offered in one or more tranches or series, potentially on a private placement basis. The company stated, “The Board of Directors, at its meeting held today, i.e., Wednesday, July 16, 2025, has, inter alia, approved seeking enabling authorization from the members for raising funds up to Rs 6,000 crore through the issuance of equity shares and/or equity-linked instruments and/or other eligible securities to qualified institutional buyers by way of a Qualified Institutions Placement and/or follow-on public offer or a combination thereof.”
