mps (India) Ltd have staged a sharp rebound, rallying nearly 45% in just four trading sessions, including a 6% gain on December 16, after hitting a fresh 52-week low last week. Despite the recent surge, the stock remains under pressure in the longer term. It is still around 43% below its 52-week high and nearly 85% lower than its all-time high of ₹5,124.80, recorded in October last year. What triggered the rally? The strong recovery follows a series of major order announcements under the government’s renewable energy and solar irrigation initiatives. On December 11, Shakti Pumps received a letter of empanelment from Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company (MSEDCL) for 16,025 off-grid DC Solar Photovoltaic Water Pumping Systems under the Magel Tyala Saur Krushi Pump Yojana / PM-KUSUM B Scheme. The order is valued at approximately ₹443.78 crore (including GST) and is to be executed within 60 days. The scope includes design, manufacturing, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning across Maharashtra. A day later, on December 12, the company announced another order win from the Jharkhand Renewable Energy Development Agency for 1,200 solar water pumping systems under PM-KUSUM Component-B, worth ₹23.98 crore (including GST).
