Stock Markets Closed Today for Good Friday 2026: BSE and NSE Remain Shut

Mumbai, April 3, 2026: Trading activities on India's major stock exchanges — the Bombay Stock Exchange (

) and the National Stock Exchange (NSE) — have been suspended today on account of Good Friday. This marks the second trading holiday in a short span this week, following the closure on March 31 for Shri Mahavir Jayanti, which also coincided with the end of the financial year 2025-26. As a result, investors are observing a long weekend break. Affected Segments No trading will take place across the following segments on both BSE and NSE: Equities Equity derivatives Securities Lending and Borrowing (SLBs) Currency derivatives Interest rate derivatives Commodity exchanges, including and NCDEX, are also closed for the day. Trading Resumption Normal trading operations are scheduled to resume on Monday, April 6, 2026. Market participants are advised to plan their trades accordingly, as there will be no market activity over the three-day weekend (Saturday, Sunday, and the Good Friday holiday).
