Tata Power Shares Slip 2% as Mundra Plant Shutdown Hits Q2 Earnings — What Should Investors Do?

mpany Ltd fell over 2% on November 12 after the Tata Group utility major reported a muted set of earnings for the July–September quarter (Q2 FY26). The company’s performance was weighed down by the temporary shutdown of its Mundra Power Plant, which impacted operational revenue. As of 12:05 PM, Tata Power shares were trading at ₹387.50 apiece, down more than 2% on the NSE, a day after the firm announced its quarterly results post-market hours on November 11. Tata Power Q2 FY26 Results Tata Power reported a consolidated net profit of ₹919.44 crore for Q2 FY26, showing a marginal 0.8% year-on-year (YoY) decline compared to ₹926.53 crore in the same quarter last year. Revenue from operations slipped nearly 1% YoY to ₹15,544.91 crore, as against ₹15,697.67 crore reported in Q2 FY25. The company attributed the subdued performance to the ongoing shutdown of operations at its Mundra Power Plant since July 3, undertaken to carry out pending overhauling activities and resolve existing technical issues.
