Vodafone Idea Shares Surge 4% on Hopes of AGR Relief by Year-End

ea (Vi) shares jumped nearly 4% on December 2, reaching ₹10.32, after Union Telecom Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia said the government could finalize AGR dues relief recommendations by the end of 2025. Speaking to CNBC-TV18, Scindia stated that the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) is awaiting a formal request from Vodafone Idea. Once received, the government will evaluate the proposal within legal boundaries set by the Supreme Court and aims to announce the relief package contours within weeks. The stock, which hit a 52-week low of ₹6.12 in August, has rallied over 81% in three months to a high of ₹11.08 in November. Vi shares are up 27% year-to-date in 2025.
