AXISBANK
Axis Bank is India's third-largest private-sector bank, with businesses across retail banking, corporate banking, wealth management, credit cards and digital financial services. The current strategy is increasingly focused on quality growth, deposits and fee-based income, rather than chasing loan growth through aggressive pricing. 2. Fundamental Analysis Q1 FY27 was fundamentally strong: Parameter Q1 FY27 Net Profit ₹7,114 Cr YoY Profit Growth +23% NII ₹14,646 Cr NII Growth +8% NIM 3.46% GNPA 1.28% NNPA 0.39% Fee Income ₹6,156 Cr Profit growth and asset quality were encouraging. GNPA improved from 1.57% a year earlier to 1.28%, while NNPA declined to 0.39%. Major positive: Loan growth remained healthy, with domestic loans growing strongly. Major concern: NIM at 3.46% declined 34 bps YoY and 16 bps QoQ. Management attributed much of the pressure to the impact of repo-rate cuts and changes in balance-sheet mix. So fundamentally, I would classify Axis Bank as: Strong business + improving asset quality + good earnings growth, but margin pressure is the key near-term concern.
