As of September 2026, Bajaj Finance continues to show strong operating momentum, particularly in AUM growth, profitability and asset quality. My commentary as a SEBI Registered Research Analyst would focus on whether this growth remains sustainable rather than looking at a single-quarter performance. 1. Strong business growth In Q1 FY27, consolidated AUM increased 23.9% YoY to ₹5.47 lakh crore, while net interest income increased 22.9% to ₹12,571 crore. Consolidated PAT increased 27.4% YoY to approximately ₹5,986 crore. The company also booked 16.13 million new loans during the quarter, indicating continued demand across its lending businesses. 2. Asset quality is an important positive For a lending company, growth alone isn't sufficient; the quality of that growth is critical. Bajaj Finance reported Q1 FY27 GNPA of 0.96% and NNPA of 0.39%, both lower than the corresponding levels a year earlier. What I would monitor going forward AUM growth: Can the company continue growing its loan book at a healthy pace without compromising credit quality? My Research Perspective The fundamental story is currently driven by a combination of strong AUM growth, healthy profitability and improving reported asset-quality metrics. However, for an NBFC, investors should not evaluate the company only on earnings growth.
