plans to invest ₹19,400 crore over the next 5–7 years to expand, modernise and upgrade its Delhi and Hyderabad airport operations, aiming to capture the strong structural growth in India’s air passenger traffic.
* Hyderabad Airport: Around ₹13,800 crore investment is planned, with annual passenger-handling capacity expected to more than double from around 34 million to 80 million passengers. The expansion will support higher passenger volumes and strengthen Hyderabad’s position as a key aviation hub.
* Delhi Airport: Around ₹5,600 crore will be invested towards infrastructure upgrades, modernisation and capacity enhancement to accommodate rising domestic and international passenger demand.
The planned capex comes at a time when India’s aviation sector is witnessing sustained growth in passenger traffic. Higher airport capacity, improved infrastructure and greater passenger throughput could support GMR Airports’ long-term revenue growth and non-aeronautical income opportunities, while strengthening its position across two of the country’s major airport hubs.
Overall, the ₹19,400 crore investment reflects GMR’s long-term strategy to build capacity ahead of demand and benefit from India’s expanding aviation ecosystem.#StockInNews
