* Capacity expansion approved: HFCL’s board has approved a ₹400 crore capex to expand its optical fiber (OF) and optical fiber cable (OFC) manufacturing capacities. Post expansion, total capacities will increase to 38.50 million FKM (fiber kilometer) for optical fiber and 56.36 million FKM for optical fiber cable. * Growth & demand outlook: The expansion is aimed at meeting rising domestic and global demand driven by 5G rollouts, BharatNet, data centres, and international telecom infrastructure projects, strengthening HFCL’s position as an integrated optical communication solutions provider.
