Maritime Infrastructure Boost | Positive for Shipbuilding & Port Ecosystem

1. MoPSW has approved a Greenfield Shipbuilding Cluster at Porbandar and a state-of-the-art Ship Repair Facility at Vadinar (Gujarat) under the Shipbuilding Development Scheme. The projects aim to strengthen India’s indigenous shipbuilding ecosystem, expand commercial vessel manufacturing, reduce dependence on foreign repair yards, and support the Maritime Amrit Kaal Vision 2047. 2. Likely beneficiaries:

COCHINSHIP
(direct beneficiary as co-developer of the ₹1,570 crore Vadinar ship repair facility), Garden Reach Shipbuilders (GRSE), Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders, L&T (shipbuilding & heavy engineering), Adani Ports & SEZ, and GE Shipping, as the projects are expected to strengthen India’s maritime manufacturing, repair, and port infrastructure ecosystem.
