Zen Technologies to Acquire Cogknit Stake for ₹135 Crore
Zen Technologies Limited
ZENTEC
, a leading Indian defence technology company specialising in combat training simulators and counter-drone systems, has announced plans to acquire a majority stake in Cogknit Semantics for ₹135 crore. Cogknit Semantics is an indigenous defence technology developer specialising in Battlefield Management Systems (BMS), which enhance situational awareness, real-time communication, operational coordination and decision-making capabilities for military forces.
The proposed acquisition represents a strategic move by Zen Technologies to expand its presence beyond simulation and training solutions into advanced battlefield digitisation and command-and-control technologies. Battlefield Management Systems play a crucial role in modern warfare by integrating information from multiple battlefield sources, enabling commanders to monitor troop movements, assess threats, share intelligence and make faster, more informed tactical decisions.
The transaction is expected to strengthen Zen Technologies’ defence technology portfolio, create opportunities for technological integration and improve its positioning in India’s growing military modernisation market. It also aligns with the government’s Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative, which emphasises indigenous development and reduced dependence on imported defence systems.
The acquisition is targeted for completion by December 13, 2026, subject to closing conditions. However, Cogknit’s FY26 turnover of ₹0.48 crore highlights that the investment is primarily focused on long-term technological capabilities rather than immediate revenue contribution.
