CMS Info Systems Q1 FY27 Earnings Review: Resilient Margins Amidst Market Disruptions

$CMSINFO Financial Highlights CMS Info Systems reported a mixed set of results for the first quarter of FY27, characterized by robust margin expansion amidst temporary top-line headwinds. Consolidated revenue grew marginally by 1.2% year-on-year (YoY) to ₹634.7 crore. Despite operational challenges, the company demonstrated strong profitability at the operating level. EBITDA rose 6.9% YoY to ₹168.8 crore, driving an impressive EBITDA margin expansion of 140 basis points to 26.6% (up from 25.2% in Q1 FY26). However, consolidated Profit After Tax (PAT) declined by 10.6% YoY to ₹83.7 crore, primarily impacted by higher depreciation and external market disruptions. Operational Headwinds & Segment Performance The quarter witnessed the sharpest currency-supply disruption in a decade, which adversely impacted ATM transaction volumes. Cash Logistics: Revenue stood at ₹403 crore (down 3% YoY), with EBIT at ₹81 crore (down 18% YoY). Managed Services & Technology Solutions: Demonstrated strong growth, reporting revenue of ₹305 crore (up 18% YoY). However, segment EBIT contracted by 13% YoY to ₹32 crore, affected by lower BLA transaction revenue and increased depreciation charges. Strategic Wins & Order Book Expansion Despite a seasonally weak quarter, CMS Info Systems achieved substantial business development milestones, securing new orders worth approximately ₹500 crore. Key wins include: An integrated managed services mandate from HDFC Bank. Two product mandates from Public Sector Banks (PSBs) for ~1,000 currency recyclers. Major PSB wins for proprietary Technology & Payment Solutions (HAWKAI Enterprise and ALGO MVS). Market Reaction: Validating the company's core operational strength and robust order pipeline, shares closed up 2.56% at ₹279.95 on the BSE.
