Coal India's Performance Update for September 2025

September 2025 Performance The company saw a decrease in both coal production and sales (off-take) in September compared to the same month last year. Production: Coal India produced 48.97 million tonnes (MT), which is down 3.9% from September 2024. Sales: The company sold 53.56 million tonnes (MT), a dip of 1.1% compared to last year. Recap of Last Quarter (April-June 2025) This September trend is similar to the company's performance in the first quarter of the financial year, where earnings were lower than the previous year. Net Profit: Dropped by 20.1% to ₹8,734 crore. Revenue: Decreased by 4.4% to ₹35,842 crore. A Positive Note: While operating earnings (EBITDA) were down 12.7%, they were still higher than what market experts had forecast. In summary, while recent production and sales figures show a slowdown, the company's operational performance in the first quarter exceeded market expectations.
