IRFC
Indian Railway Finance Corporation (IRFC), a government-backed entity, has articulated an ambitious growth strategy, "IRFC 2.0," targeting consistent double-digit quarterly profit growth and stable performance over the next five years.
Strategic Diversification and Growth Targets
CMD Manoj Kumar Dubey highlighted that IRFC 2.0 is moving beyond conventional railway financing to encompass the broader railway ecosystem. This includes lucrative, low-risk, government-backed projects such as port connectivity and power supply infrastructure.
This diversification is already yielding results:
Sanctions: IRFC sanctioned ₹45,000 crore in the first half of FY26, positioning the company to surpass its full-year guidance.
Disbursements: The annual disbursement target of ₹30,000 crore is also expected to be met or exceeded.
The strategy is underpinned by a commitment to improving yields and margins. Dubey noted that the company's Net Interest Margin (NIM) has increased, and new projects are generating enhanced returns, reinforcing confidence in steady asset growth and profitability. The zero risk of prepayments further ensures stability in Profit After Tax (PAT) and revenue growth.
Q2 FY26 Financial Snapshot
IRFC's financial performance for the July-September quarter of 2025 (Q2 FY26) shows strategic gains:
Net Profit: Rose by 10% year-on-year (YoY) to ₹1,777 crore.
NIM: Slightly improved to 1.55% from 1.53% in the previous quarter, reflecting better margin management.
Revenue: Declined 7.6% YoY to ₹6,372 crore, which the company expects to offset with increased profitability from diversified assets.
Corporate Action
In a demonstration of commitment to shareholder value, the company declared an interim dividend of ₹1.05 per share (face value ₹10), with the record date set for October 24.#WatchOutFor#FundamentalViews#Post-ClosingCommentary#HiddenGems#EquityResearch
