IREDA Q3 FY2025-26 Performance Highlights

IREDA
Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Ltd. (IREDA) has released its provisional business update for the third quarter ended December 31, 2025. The company reported a significant surge in its financial activity, with loan disbursements growing by 44% year-on-year to reach ₹24,903 crore. This sharp increase from the ₹17,236 crore recorded in the same period last year highlights the accelerating pace of project execution on the ground. Simultaneously, loan sanctions saw a 29% increase, totaling ₹40,100 crore, compared to ₹31,087 crore in the previous year. This consistent growth in sanctions suggests a healthy pipeline of upcoming renewable energy projects across the solar, wind, and emerging green technology sectors. Loan Book Expansion and Asset Strength As a result of this increased lending activity, IREDA’s total outstanding loan book has expanded by 28% to stand at ₹87,975 crore, effectively nearing the milestone of ₹90,000 crore. While the provisional update did not specify asset quality for the quarter, the preceding September quarter showed a positive trend with Gross Non-Performing Assets (GNPA) improving to 3.97%. The expanding scale of the loan book, combined with recent capital infusions, positions the agency to maintain a dominant share in the specialized renewable financing market. Strategic Capital Raising and Ownership To support this rapid balance sheet expansion, IREDA is moving forward with its planned capital-raising initiatives. The company is currently in the process of raising ₹3,000 crore through an institutional share sale (QIP), which follows a successful ₹2,000 crore raise in June 2025. These efforts align with the board’s overarching approval to raise ₹5,000 crore to bolster the Tier-1 capital ratio. Furthermore, the Government of India remains the majority stakeholder with a 71.76% holding, ensuring continued sovereign support and favorable credit ratings for the agency.
