IREDA Q3 FY26 Earnings Update: Robust Profit Growth Amidst Operational Consolidation

IREDA
Executive Summary Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Ltd. (IREDA) has reported a strong set of financial numbers for the third quarter ended December 31, 2025 (Q3 FY26). The state-owned non-banking financial company (NBFC) demonstrated significant growth in its core earnings, with a 38% surge in bottom-line profitability and healthy expansion in Net Interest Income (NII) Net Profit Surge: IREDA recorded a Net Profit of ₹584.9 crore for Q3 FY26, marking a robust 37.5% year-on-year (YoY) growth compared to ₹425.4 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal. Core Income Growth: Net Interest Income (NII)—the difference between interest earned and interest expended—witnessed a stellar increase of 34.8% YoY, reaching ₹897.5 crore from ₹665.8 crore in Q3 FY25. This underscores the company’s ability to maintain healthy spreads in a competitive lending environment. Loan Book Expansion: The company’s loan book continues to expand at a healthy clip, growing 27.6% YoY to stand at ₹87,975 crore. Disbursement Dynamics: While the nine-month (9M) cumulative disbursements grew by 44.5% to ₹24,903 crore, the specific Q3 performance showed consolidation. Quarterly disbursements declined by 5.5%, and sanctions nearly halved compared to the same period last year. This deceleration follows a high-growth first half where metrics grew upwards of 50%. Asset Quality Watch: Investors continue to monitor asset quality closely following the Gensol exposure. In the preceding quarter (Q2), Gross NPAs stood at 3.97% and Net NPAs at 1.97%, showing sequential improvement. The street awaits detailed asset quality breakdowns for Q3 to confirm if this positive trend has been sustained. Capital Raise: To fuel future growth and maintain capital adequacy ratios, IREDA is actively exploring a Qualified Institutional Placement (QIP) to raise up to ₹3,000 crore. This capital infusion is critical for sustaining the loan book expansion trajectory over the medium term.
