KARURVYSYA
The private sector lender's net profit recorded a significant year-on-year increase of 21.1%, rising to ₹573.7 crore from ₹473.6 crore in the corresponding period of the previous year. This growth was primarily fueled by a strong expansion in Net Interest Income (NII), which grew by 18.7% year-on-year to ₹1,261 crore, up from ₹1,062 crore, indicative of healthy loan book growth and effective margin management. The bank maintained largely stable asset quality metrics, which is crucial in the current lending landscape. While Gross Non-Performing Assets (GNPA) saw a marginal increase to 0.76% from 0.66% in the preceding quarter, Net NPAs remained steady at 0.19%. Management's commentary suggests a continued strategic focus on credit expansion, rigorous cost containment, and preserving strong asset quality. This performance underscores KVB's operational resilience amidst a competitive environment. The market acknowledged these results, with the lender's shares closing 0.5% higher at ₹227.40 on Friday. Furthermore, the stock has delivered a strong return, appreciating by 23% over the last six months. These results position Karur Vysya Bank favorably for sustained performance.
