Marico Ltd. Q2 FY26 Financial Performance Analysis

MARICO
Executive Summary: Marico Ltd. delivered a mixed performance for the second quarter ending September 30, 2025. The company reported robust top-line growth and healthy, in-line volumes, successfully outpacing revenue expectations. However, this strong sales momentum was offset by significant profitability pressure, with EBITDA margins contracting by 350 basis points year-on-year (YoY), emerging as the primary concern for the quarter. Key Performance Indicators (Q2 FY26) Revenue: Consolidated revenue demonstrated strong growth, jumping 31% YoY to ₹3,482 crore from ₹2,664 crore in the prior-year period. This performance notably beat the consensus poll estimate of ₹3,356 crore. Volume Growth: The company achieved a 7% volume growth, which was in line with market expectations (estimated at 6-7%). This indicates solid underlying consumer demand and market penetration for its core portfolio. EBITDA: Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation, and Amortization (EBITDA) rose 7.3% YoY to ₹560 crore. This figure slightly exceeded the Street's expectation of ₹548 crore. Net Profit: Profit After Tax (PAT) stood at ₹420 crore. While this was broadly in line with the consensus estimate of ₹415 crore, it represents a marginal decline compared to the ₹423 crore reported in the corresponding quarter last year. Margin & Profitability Analysis The central challenge this quarter was significant margin compression. EBITDA Margin: The EBITDA margin softened considerably to 16.1%, a 350 basis point (3.5%) contraction from 19.6% in Q2 FY25. Estimate Miss: This margin performance was also marginally below the Street's estimate of 16.3%, suggesting that cost pressures or pricing dynamics were more intense than anticipated.
