NMDC hikes iron ore prices: Baila Lump at ₹5,550/tonne, Fines at ₹4,750/tonne

NMDC
NMDC Limited has announced a revision in the pricing of its iron ore products, effective from October 22, 2025. The price for Baila Lump (65.5%, 10-40 mm) has been set at ₹5,550 per tonne, and Baila Fines (64%, -10 mm) at ₹4,750 per tonne. These are ex-mine prices (FOR - Free on Rail) and are inclusive of royalty, District Mineral Foundation (DMF), and National Mineral Exploration Trust (NMET) charges, while excluding cess, GST, and other local levies. This price hike comes against a backdrop of strong operational performance. In September, NMDC reported a 23.4% year-on-year surge in total iron ore production, reaching 3.75 million tonnes, alongside a 9.6% increase in sales. For the first half of the current fiscal year (FY26), cumulative production escalated significantly to 22.20 million tonnes, marking a substantial increase from 17.47 million tonnes in H1 FY25. Sales also saw robust growth, climbing to 22.25 million tonnes from 19.80 million tonnes in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year. The revised pricing, coinciding with sustained increases in production and sales volume, is expected to positively impact the company's revenue and profitability in the latter half of FY26. Investors should note this upward price revision as a key factor in NMDC's valuation, reflecting favorable market conditions and the company's robust operational scaling. The stock closed at ₹75.61 on October 21, having appreciated by 14.7% year-to-date.
