Renewable Energy Expansion (NTPC Green Energy Limited - NGEL)
1. New Commercial Operation Date (COD):
A 25 MW Solar capacity, part of a 37.5 MW project in Bhuj, Gujarat, was declared on Commercial Operation w.e.f. September 27, 2025. This project is a group company of NGEL via its joint venture ONGC NTPC Green Private Limited.
2. NGEL Group Capacity Milestone:
With this addition, the total installed capacity of the NGEL Group will increase to 7,407.475 MW.
3. NTPC Group Total Capacity:
Following this COD, the total installed and commercial capacity of the NTPC Group will become 83,888 MW.
#Board Approvals and Project Revisions (26th September 2025)
1. Hydro and Solar Projects:
Approved an equity infusion of up to ₹2,444.39 crore in North Eastern Electric Power Corporation Limited (a Wholly Owned Subsidiary) for three hydro projects and one solar project.
2. Waste-to-Energy Projects:
Approved two Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) to Torrefied Charcoal Facility proposals by our Joint Venture, Aravali Power Company Private Limited (APCPL):
- 1200 TPD capacity at Faridabad, Haryana, at an estimated cost of ₹365.40 crore.
- 1500 TPD capacity at Gurugram, Haryana, at an estimated cost of ₹414.10 crore.
3. Thermal Project Cost Revision:
The Cost Estimate for the North Karanpura Super Thermal Power Project (3x660 MW) has been revised to ₹21,495.25 crore.
# Financial Highlights:
- The total dividend for the financial year 2024-25 reached ₹8,096 crore (₹8.35 per share).
- The company recently paid its final dividend of ₹3,248 crore to the Ministry of Power on September 25, 2025 (representing 33.50% of the paid-up equity share capital).
- Consolidated Net Profit for FY25 grew to ₹23,953.15 crore, up from ₹21,332.45 crore in FY24.
- Total income also grew to ₹1,90,862.45 crore, up from ₹1,81,165.86 crore in FY24.
