Trent Ltd. delivered a robust financial performance for the first quarter of FY27.

Q1 FY27 Financial Highlights The Tata Group retailer reported solid double-digit growth, outperforming street estimates across the board: Net Profit: Increased 26% year-over-year (YoY) to ₹532 crore, comfortably surpassing estimates of ₹495 crore. Revenue: Reached ₹5,666 crore, marking an 18.5% YoY growth, aligning with previous business updates. EBITDA: Surged 32.6% YoY to ₹1,110 crore, beating the projected ₹1,040 crore. Margins: Operational efficiencies drove significant expansion. EBITDA margin expanded by 210 basis points YoY to 19.6% (vs. est. 17.8%), while gross margins improved to 46.6% from 45.1% in the prior year. Operational & Segment Updates Fashion Portfolio: Growth was constrained to the low-single digits on an LFL basis, which temporarily tempered market enthusiasm during the trading session. Store Expansion: The company continued its footprint expansion, adding 22 gross (19 net) Zudio stores during the quarter. Star Business: The food and grocery segment continues to witness encouraging consumer traction with no material shifts in underlying competitive intensity. Market Reaction Following the earnings release, Trent’s shares experienced volatile trading—initially popping 3%, pulling back into the red on LFL growth concerns, and subsequently recovering to trade 1.8% higher at ₹3,184.1. The stock retains a strong upward trajectory, up 10% year-to-date in 2026.
