VOLTAS
Voltas Ltd. has announced its financial results for the second quarter ending September 30, 2025. The period was marked by significant external challenges, including a lean summer season and demand deferment related to GST revisions, which impacted profitability.
Q2 FY26 Financial Highlights
Net Profit: ₹34.3 crore, registering a 74.4% decline year-over-year (YoY) from ₹134 crore in Q2 FY25.
Revenue from Operations: ₹2,347 crore, a 10.4% decrease from ₹2,619 crore YoY.
EBITDA: ₹70.4 crore, reflecting a 56.6% drop from ₹162 crore YoY.
Operating Margin: Contracted to 3.0% compared to 6.2% in the corresponding quarter last year.
These figures fell below consensus market estimates. CNBC-TV18 had projected a net profit of ₹95 crore and revenue of ₹2,387 crore.
Performance Analysis & Segment-wise Review
The Unitary Cooling Products segment faced muted retail offtake. This was primarily attributed to the lag effect of an early monsoon and the GST rate reduction (from 28% to 18%), which led to deferred consumer purchases and higher channel inventory. Margins were further impacted by increased marketing support and under-absorption at new manufacturing facilities.
Despite these headwinds, Voltas successfully retained its market leadership position.
The company's diversified portfolio provided stabilization:
Electro-Mechanical Projects & Services: This segment helped mitigate the seasonality of the cooling business. Domestic projects advanced in execution, while international operations maintained high-quality delivery and disciplined project management.
Engineering Products & Services: This division showed operational resilience, with stable performance from mining and construction equipment.
Voltbek (Home Appliances JV): The brand continued its strong growth trajectory, gaining market share across washing machines, refrigerators, and other appliances.#WatchOutFor#FundamentalViews#Post-ClosingCommentary#HiddenGems#EquityResearch
