Q1 FY27 Results: Profit Surges 37% to ₹8,167 Crore; Revenue Climbs 18%

The telecom operator's Average Revenue Per User (ARPU) improved to ₹264, up from ₹250 a year ago, reflecting the benefits of tariff revisions and an improved customer mix. The company also posted steady growth across its core businesses, with India operations recording healthy revenue expansion and the Africa business delivering strong constant-currency growth. Airtel further increased its stake in Airtel Africa to over 79% through a share-swap transaction, strengthening its long-term presence in the region. The India mobile business maintained strong momentum, supported by premium customer upgrades, improving user quality, and rising demand for data services.
