Closing Bell: Nifty surpasses 23,600, Sensex soars nearly 1,700 points amid optimism over a potential US-Iran peace agreement

Among the Nifty 50 stocks, $SHRIRAMFIN , $LT & Toubro (L&T), $INDIGO , $BAJFINANCE , and $HDFCBANK led the gains and emerged as the top performers of the session. Conversely, $NESTLEIND lé India, $ONGC , $TECHM , $POWERGRID , and $SBILIFE Insurance were among the key underperformers and ended the day in negative territory. On the sectoral front, all major indices closed higher except the IT sector, which remained under pressure. Strong buying interest was witnessed in Consumer Durables, Realty, Telecom, Banking, Auto, Media, Oil & Gas, and Metal stocks, with these indices advancing between 1% and 2%. The broader market displayed stronger momentum than the benchmark indices, as both the Nifty Midcap 100 and Nifty Smallcap 100 gained approximately 2% each, reflecting widespread participation across market segments.
