Indian equity benchmarks Sensex and Nifty closed higher on Monday, lifted by easing global trade tensions and continued foreign inflows. The indices extended their winning streak to the longest so far in 2025, buoyed by growing optimism over a potential India-U.S. trade agreement.
Ten of the 13 major sectoral indices posted gains in early trade, while the broader small- and mid-cap indices rose around 0.4% each. Investor sentiment remained upbeat as foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) purchased Indian equities for the 12th consecutive session on Friday marking their longest buying streak in two years.
