Closing Bell: Sensex Ends 294 Points Higher, Nifty Tops 24,450; Adani Ent Gains 7%, Trent 4%

Indian equity benchmarks Sensex and Nifty closed higher on Monday, lifted by easing global trade tensions and continued foreign inflows. The indices extended their winning streak to the longest so far in 2025, buoyed by growing optimism over a potential India-U.S. trade agreement. Ten of the 13 major sectoral indices posted gains in early trade, while the broader small- and mid-cap indices rose around 0.4% each. Investor sentiment remained upbeat as foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) purchased Indian equities for the 12th consecutive session on Friday marking their longest buying streak in two years. Among individual stocks,

ADANIENT
surged 7% and
TRENT
advanced 4%. However,
KOTAKBANK
Bank fell 3% after reporting a larger-than expected drop in quarterly profit, driven by a rise in provisions for bad loans, which offset the impact of robust loan growth.
