Indian equities closed nearly flat on Thursday, with the Sensex and Nifty showing little movement as markets searched for direction following three straight losing sessions. Early losses were trimmed, supported by buying interest in IT and banking stocks. The S&P BSE Sensex declined by 78 points, or 0.09%, to finish at 84,481.81, while the NSE Nifty 50 inched down just 3 points, or 0.01%, to settle at 25,815.55. fell in the range of 1% to 3%. The broader market delivered a stronger performance, with mid-cap indices rising 0.3% and small-cap stocks adding 0.1%. IT stocks jumped 1.2%, emerging as the top-performing sector of the day. Tata Consultancy Services, the nation’s largest IT services firm, climbed 2% after unveiling a roadmap to position itself as the world’s leading AI-driven technology services company.
