In the previous session, the Sensex had settled at 81,148.22, and the Nifty closed at 24,578.35. Broader markets also opened on a positive note, with the Midcap and Smallcap indices gaining around 400 points each. Among sectoral gainers, defence stock Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers Ltd surged over 12% in early trade, leading the rally.
