Market Overview: Sensex gains 336 pts, Nifty tops 25,700; BEL, Adani Ports climb 2% each
Indian equities closed higher on Tuesday, with the Sensex and Nifty rebounding from early declines as optimism surrounding a possible trade breakthrough with Washington and the reopening of the U.S. government lifted market sentiment. However, advances were limited by softness in financial counters after Bajaj Finance trimmed its asset growth projection, while volatility increased ahead of the Nifty 50’s weekly derivatives expiry.
The S&P BSE Sensex advanced 0.4%, finishing at 83,871.32, up 335.97 points, whereas the NSE Nifty 50 added 0.47% or 120.60 points, to close at 25,694.95.
