RBI MPC Meeting 2026 Highlights: The Reserve Bank of India’s Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) conducted its first policy review of the 2026 calendar year. RBI Governor Sanjay Malhotra announced that the benchmark policy rate—the repo rate—will remain unchanged at 5.25%. As part of the ongoing monetary easing phase, the central bank has reduced the repo rate by a cumulative 125 basis points (1.25%) so far, easing borrowing costs and providing relief on loan EMIs.
