Industries and Rolls-Royce join hands to develop indigenous combat engine for AMCA

The proposed partnership is aimed at strengthening India’s domestic aerospace manufacturing and propulsion capabilities while advancing the country’s push for self-reliance in defence technology. The collaboration is expected to combine Industries’ industrial and manufacturing capabilities with Rolls-Royce’s expertise in advanced aero-engine technology. The initiative marks a significant step towards developing critical propulsion systems within India and reducing dependence on imported defence technologies. The proposed engine programme is also aligned with India’s broader Make in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat objectives, with a focus on establishing a robust domestic ecosystem for the design, development and production of advanced combat aircraft engines.
