Sensex climbs 100 points in the final trading session of 2025; Nifty crosses 25,950 as TATASTEEL and BEL gain up to 2%.
Indian stock markets traded on a stronger note on Wednesday, with benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty ending a four-day decline on the last trading day of the year. Value buying supported markets despite ongoing worries about continued foreign investor selling. Indian equities closed largely unchanged on Tuesday, as subdued year-end activity and persistent concerns over foreign portfolio outflows extended the losing streak for both the Sensex and Nifty. Muted investor sentiment and low trading volumes weighed on the market. The BSE Sensex dipped 20 points, or 0.02%, to settle at 84,675.08, while the NSE Nifty 50 slipped 3 points, or 0.01%, to finish at 25,938.85, remaining just below the 26,000 mark.
