Sensex Jumps 700 Points, Nifty Above 23,450; Realty & Pharma

Indian benchmark indices extended their gains during Monday afternoon trading, with the Sensex rising 689 points, or 0.93%, to 74,984, while the Nifty climbed 119 points, or 0.51%, to 23,465 around 2 pm. Market breadth remained balanced, with 1,999 shares advancing compared with 2,010 declining. Among sectors, Realty rose 1.40%, while FMCG and pharma gained more than 1% each. Consumer durables also advanced 1.03%, whereas metals slipped 0.34%. The Nifty Midcap 100 declined 0.19%, while the Smallcap 100 remained largely unchanged.
