rally nearly 5% each.

Synopsis: Indian equity markets staged a strong recovery on Wednesday, with both Sensex and Nifty climbing around 1.6% on the first trading day of financial year 2027. Optimism over a possible early resolution of the Iran–US-Israel conflict, along with other supportive cues, lifted investor sentiment. During the session, Sensex jumped around 2,000 points in early trade, while Nifty moved past 22,900. However, benchmark indices later trimmed some of their intraday gains. Sensex eventually settled 1,187 points higher at 73,134, while Nifty advanced 348 points to close at 22,679. The robust rally boosted the total market capitalisation of BSE-listed firms by nearly ₹10 lakh crore, taking it to around ₹422 lakh crore.
