Sensex slides over 400 pts, Nifty near 24,450; !UltraTech Cement, !IndiGo weigh Tuesday, August 11, 2026
Indian equity benchmarks came under pressure on Tuesday as fading hopes of a potential US-Iran agreement dented market sentiment. The Sensex fell more than 400 points, while the Nifty50 traded around the 24,450 level. The Nifty50 was down 130 points,. The Sensex declined 400 points, $TATACONSUM Products, !Max Healthcare Institute and !UltraTech Cement were among the biggest decliners in the Nifty50 index, while IndiGo also remained under pressure. In the broader market, the Nifty MidCap index slipped 0.02 per cent, whereas the Nifty SmallCap index advanced 0.32 per cent. Sectoral performance was mixed, with Nifty Private Bank and Nifty Cement emerging as the weakest performers. Nifty IT and Nifty Pharma, meanwhile, outpaced other sectors.
